About DJ Cannon
"Please allow me to introduce myself." - Rolling Stones from Sympathy for the devil
I am John "DJ Cannon" Cantrell, the proprietor of Cannon's DJ Service. When in high school, I was involved in "forensics" speech competitions; I loved to get others attention and command a crowd even then. I have always had a love for music and got an opportunity to use that hobby as a disc jockey for the Ferris State University campus news channel; maintained by the school. I was picked out of the many applicants for my ability to announce the news smoothly and for my knowledge of music. I later turned that hobby into the business it is today.
I was graciously given the moniker "Cannon" after being in the U.S. Army as a cannon crewmember and the fact my other favorite hobby is bowling. I use my "cannonballs" on my current league. My friends say I do make the pins explode like they were hit by a cannonball. They also comment on the fact that the ball speeds down the lane like it were shot out of a cannon; I like to use a lot of power.
   
I love music of all genres and grew up listening to all types of music. I have been DJing parties and receptions for the past 15 years. I keep current with new music trends by being active in listening to radio, watching videos, connecting to DJ websites, receiving new cd's weekly, reading industry magazines, and checking on music charts; on top of all the requests for new music I get when DJing. I am currently the Rock 'N' Bowl DJ for Airport Lanes on Saturday nights. If you have any comments or questions please feel free to contact me.
